Bernie began specialising in corporate recovery and insolvency in 2001.  His extensive experience includes engagement in compulsory and voluntary liquidations, bankruptcy and individual voluntary arrangements, financial reviews and investigations. He holds the Specialist Designation in Insolvency awarded by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), and he is also a member of the Restructuring and Insolvency Faculty of the HKICPA.

Bernie is one of the co-founders of Wing United CPA Limited, a firm of Certified Public Accountants established in 2008. Before this, he spent more than 10 years in accounting and business advisory firms in Hong Kong, where he was involved in all types of insolvency and corporate restructuring assignments.

Bernie co-founded Rodgers Reidy Hong Kong in order to expand and build the capabilities of its insolvency, forensic and restructuring services. He works closely with his Rodgers Reidy overseas counterparts on cross border referrals and joint appointments throughout Asia.

Career Highlights and Key Expertise

Bernie has managed more than 300 insolvency cases for corporations and individuals in the construction, manufacturing, printing, information technology and agency industries, which involve major business operations in the PRC and Macau.

He also has particular expertise in two specific areas of insolvency practice, identifying problems and providing technical support to the management of the companies with financial difficulties and assisting them in developing exit strategies. Some notable liquidations include a China based medicine manufacturing business and, in Hong Kong, a distinguished computer manufacturer, a leading IT retailer, a PCR electronic company, a major construction business and a well-established magazine printer.
