He is a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner and a current member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, with his membership spanning more than 30 years. He has extensive experience in the insolvency industry and has made many high-profile appointments.

On his days off, Derek enjoys heading up to his holiday home in Northland with his family.  He enjoys teeing off at his local golf club as well as heading out in his boat for a spot of fishing and reeling in the big Kingfish.
