Matt Riley began his career in the Australian Army, after which he joined the retail and manufacturing industries. In 2019 Matt began his career in insolvency with the opening of the Rodgers Reidy Tasmania, which is a family-owned business of which he is a Director.

With Matt’s previous experience, he quickly fell into the role of managing various trade-on appointments. He has proven his ability to quickly navigate challenges involved in assisting distressed businesses and is able to collaborate closely with key stakeholders to assist with stabilising operations.

Matt’s subsequent role in investigating Director misconduct has underscored his dedication to ethical business practices.

Matt has undertaken work relating to Small Business Restructures, Voluntary Administration/Deed of Company Arrangement, Liquidations, Personal Insolvency and Members’ Voluntary Liquidations. Matt has also been involved in various Turnaround and Restructure matters.

Matt is also the head of Marketing for Rodgers Reidy Tas, a role that he has quickly taken in his stride.

Personal Interests

Born and raised in Tasmania, Matt played cricket as a junior having to give the game away because of a serious back injury. He finally returned 26 years later and accepted the role of President of a local cricket club. He transformed a struggling cricket club into the biggest in the Association during his appointment.

Matt loves his partner and children and, like most other business owners, regrets not spending enough time with them.
